Pre-Arrival Guide for International Students

Dear Students, Thank you for choosing Amy Admission service. We' re excited to meet you in China. Welcome you to come to China! In order to ensure a successful start at Chinese University, Amy Admission will provide you with detailed information on housing, pick-up and other details. Please read this guide carefully and review the steps and information you need to take to avoid any delay in your arrival to China.

1. Visa

You should apply for an X1 visa to study in China at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General in your country with the following materials:

a) Valid Regular Passport

b) Admission Notice

c) Visa Application Form( JW 202 Form)

d) Physical Examination Report

Note: The validity period of your visa is very important. For X1 visa: You need to apply for residence permit in the following 30 days after your entry. Students must pay attention to the expiration date of visa. It is illegal if students stay in China with an expired visa. The violator will be fined (500 RMB per day), be detained for investigation or be deported.

2. Airplane Tickets

After receiving your visa, you are suggested to book airplane tickets as early as possible. It is necessary to provide your flight information to Amy Admission at least one week before your flight date. Here are the tips of booking airplane ticket:

1) Please make sure that you arrive on time to register before the deadline( the registration time can be found on your admission letter or JW 202, or you can contact Amy Admission to confirm).

2) Choose the ticket which will take off during the day.

3) Arrive beyond the mid night , holidays and weekends( e.g. The Mid-autumn Festival, National Day ).

4) If you can not come and register on time please inform Amy Admission in advance.

3. Required Original Copies of Documents

a) Admission Package( Admission Notice and JW 202 Form)

b) International Passport

c) Physical Examination Record for Foreigners

d) Eight 2-inch Recent Color Photos

4. Luggage

1) Documentation and Currency:

Remember to bring the original copies of Admission Letter, JW202 Form, and cash (International credit cards are not accepted by all retail stores in China).You should bring enough cash to pay for the following, or you will not allowed to apply for Residence Permit.

a) Tuition Fee (Indeed, most of the universities request student to transfer their tuition fees before they reach China)

b) Accommodation Fee (Indeed, most of the universities request student to transfer their Accommodation fees before they reach China)

c) Text Books

d) Insurance

e) Resident Permit: About 400 RMB/ year (varies with the universities)

f) Physical Examination: About 500 RMB (varies with the cities)

g) Living Expenses: About 1000-2500 RMB/ month (varies with the individual)

For scholarship winners, please refer to the Admission Notice for the fees that will be covered by the scholarship and prepare the fees that will be paid by yourself.

*Tuition Fee: (Indeed, most of the universities request student to transfer their Accommodation fees before they reach China to their authorized Bank Account. For the details, please follow your Admission Letter/Notice)

2) Clothing:
