Taizhou University, set up and administered by both Zhejiang provincial government and Taizhou

municipal government, is a comprehensive university officially approved by the Ministry of Education of China. The university has a history of over 100 hundred years, which could be traced back to the Teacher's Training Specialty of Santai High School established in 1907， and was upgraded to undergraduate in 2002 and selected as a pilot demonstration university of application-oriented construction in Zhejiang Province in 2019. It ranked the top ten of China's application-oriented universities ranking in 2020 and was approved as a master's degree awarding unit in 2021.

Having three campuses in Jiaojiang and Linhai, the university occupies a total land area of nearly 1,100,000 m2, a construction area of about 580,000 square meters. It has a total value of 480 million yuan of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment, a collection of more than 2.3 million paper books, and 4 directly affiliated hospitals. There are 14 secondary schools including School of Humanities, School of Business, School of Foreign Languages, School of Electronics and Information Engineering (Big Data), School of Life Science, School of Medicine and Chemical Engineering, School of Art and Design, School of Intelligent Manufacturing(Aviation Engineering), School of Architectural Engineering, School of Medicine, School of Materials Science and Engineering and School of Pharmacy.

There are 55 undergraduate majors, covering 11 disciplines, including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine, management, art, and interdisciplinary subjects. The university has 3 master's degree programs. Chemistry and materials science have been ranked the top 1% of ESI's global rankings. And ecology, Chemical engineering and technology, materials science and engineering have entered the "China's high-level discipline" sequence of Airuishen Alumni Association subject rankings, and ecology has been ranked the top 500 world-class disciplines in soft sciences; It has 2 national-level characteristic majors and 3 national-level first-class professional construction points. Currently there are more than 1 6,000 full-time students, including over 240 international students. In addition, there are more than 1200 full-time members on the teaching staff, among whom more than 620 are professors or associate professors and more than 630 have doctoral degrees.

With the internationalization of education as the starting point, we promote open school-running and broaden the horizons of teachers and students, such as jointly training master's degree in nursing with California Baptist University, collaborating with New Mexico State University to organize undergraduate education programs in civil engineering, and jointly training undergraduate students with universities in the United States, Britain, South Korea and other countries in "2 + 2" and "3+ 1" models. We establish friendly exchange relations with more than 50 universities outside the country.
